News > Live Near the Newly Refurbished Union Station!

published on 2014-08-14

Denver’s newest attraction is also one of its oldest. Built in 1881, Denver Union Station recently underwent a renovation that has transformed the old girl into a 21st century urban hub while retaining her original charm and beauty. Gone are the days when Union Station served only a couple of Amtrak trains on their way to the west coast from Chicago. Now, while still serving as a bus and light rail transportation hub, Union Station also boasts a first-class hotel, nearly a dozen locally-owned shops and restaurants, and a 40,000 square foot outdoor plaza.

Included in the new Union Station is the popular Snooze restaurant. If you have ever arrived at another of Snooze’s locations only to find a line snaking around the corner, you know that another location is a wonderful thing. Denver’s iconic Tattered Cover also has a satellite location here. Or maybe you just want to enjoy a Colorado craft brew at Terminal Bar. Looking for flowers or other gift items? Then Bloom is your store. Or perhaps 5 Green Boxes. So many options!

Want to live near Denver Union Station? Who wouldn’t? The good news is that there are many options for townhomes and condos near Denver Union Station, many within a short walking distance. To the west of Union Station, in the Central Platte Valley between Lodo and I-25, is Riverfront Park, accessible on foot from Denver Union Station via the 18th Street Bridge. In addition to the Denver Aquarium, Children’s Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Riverfront Park is home to a number of condo and townhome communities, including the Glass House and Riverfront Tower.

Completed in 2007, the Glass House, comprised of 389 units, is one-of-a-kind in Denver. Featuring 23 stories of steel and ceiling-to floor-glass, the majority of units in the Glass House provide panoramic vistas of the Rocky Mountains and downtown Denver. In addition, all units feature modern, high-end finishes including hardwood, granite, and stainless steel. Open floor plans and five-piece baths are also standard.

If you prefer a more traditional look to the ultra-modern glass and steel of the Glass House, look no further than Riverfront Tower. Although built as recently as 2002, the red brick exterior of Riverfront Tower calls to mind some of the more historic buildings in Denver. Larger in size on average than many other Denver condos, the units at Riverfront Tower range from 1,000 square feet to 5,100 square feet. This allows for walk-in closets and even formal dining rooms, both of which can be hard to come by in urban living.

Of course, this being the Central Platte Valley, the mountain, city, and park views from Riverfront Tower are inspiring. And all of it – the architecture, the mountains, the park—is right outside your door. Cross the bridge to Union Station and you'll be next to everything here too.

As you can see, condos near Denver Union Station are plentiful and varied. So why not live near Denver Union Station? We can’t think of a reason.
